Definition of "Oil"
The oil painting is a medium of painting, which uses a mixture of pigment and oil drying, to obtain a paste more or less consistent. The oil used is usually linseed oil or oil œillette.
The oil paint dries more slowly than acrylic paint and better mix colors or recover more easily default.
The so-called drying, is actually an oxidation of the oil that hardens, without changing the aspect of the work, and in some way, imprisoned pigments and allows the conservation of the painting.
It is also possible to obtain effects of substance or embossed with a paste fairly consistent. Using a spatula also called knife can be used to obtain relief, and thereby increase the subject of the work.
